How does Home Link select volunteers?

There are many stages to the process. Anyone who contacts Home Link about becoming a befriender will receive an information pack which includes a volunteer application form.

Once we have received a completed application form, the volunteer recruitment officer will get in touch to arrange a time for an informal chat to explain a bit more about the service we provide, what our befrienders do and the recruitment process including training. It is also a chance for you to ask any questions about Home Link and what befriending involves.

If both sides are happy to proceed you will then be invited to join the next induction training course for volunteers. Following the training course the Project Worker for your area will carry out a Post Training Review to discuss the training, possible issues arising in befriending and your own background and reasons for wanting to volunteer.
